Nurse Wellbeing Pre-Congress Workshop
This interactive wellbeing workshop is based on a workshop originally developed in Western Australia for cancer nurses. This workshop demonstrated significant positive outcomes for those who attended, specifically, stress levels were found to have decreased at one and six weeks following the workshop, happiness had increased, and problem focused coping improved.
Nurses attending this pre-conference workshop will: Understand the impact of wellbeing and stress on personal control and capacity; Reflect on strategies to develop and sustain resilience in self and others; Identify leadership and team behaviours which promote positive nursing cultures and work environments; Learn to use a cognitive framework for managing stress; Increase awareness of self-care strategies to promote wellbeing; Understand how to motivate themselves to enable regular self-care.
In addition, nurses who attend this workshop are likely to have fun whilst decreasing their stress and increasing levels of happiness and positive coping! “Enjoyable, interactive, interesting, helpful, informative”
